IHCL Managing Director Dr Rod Brazier Presents ACEL at the Explorance Student Voices Conference
The International Humanitarian College London (IHCL) is pleased to share that its Managing Director, Dr Rod Brazier, presented at the Explorance Student Voices Conference, held October 15th, contributing to important discussions on the evolving landscape of education and the changing needs and expectations of modern students.
During his presentation, Dr Brazier spoke about the Adaptive Chunked Experiential Learning (ACEL) and its role in rethinking traditional approaches to education. His contribution explored how educational institutions can adapt to a rapidly changing world by placing greater emphasis on student needs, practical experience, flexibility and the development of skills that prepare learners for their future careers.
As higher education continues to evolve, understanding the student perspective is becoming increasingly important. Today's students expect more than the acquisition of academic knowledge: they seek meaningful learning experiences, opportunities to apply their skills in practice, and educational pathways that reflect their individual ambitions and professional goals.
ACEL reflects IHCL's commitment to addressing these changing expectations by supporting a more flexible, student-centred approach to learning that connects academic development with real-world experience.
The conference also highlighted the importance of ensuring that students have a meaningful voice in shaping the future of education. The keynote address was delivered by Favour Samuel, President of the National Union of Students (NUS), who emphasised the importance of students being present at the decision-making tables where their futures are discussed and shaped.
This message strongly resonates with IHCL's commitment to creating educational experiences that respond to students' needs and recognise them as active participants in their own learning journeys.
Through initiatives such as ACEL and its engagement with the wider education community, IHCL continues to contribute to the conversation about how higher education can become more responsive, relevant and aligned with the expectations of today's learners.
We are proud to see Dr Rod Brazier representing IHCL at this important industry event and contributing to discussions that are helping shape the future of student-centred education.
