IHCL Shortlisted for the Contribution to Inclusion Award at the Lead5050 Awards 2026

London, UK — 21 October 2026

Selected from hundreds of nominations, IHCL has been recognised as a finalist among organisations making a meaningful contribution to equality, diversity and inclusion. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring that education is accessible, supportive and responsive to the needs of every learner.

“Being recognised for our contribution to inclusion reflects everything IHCL stands for:  education that adapts to people’s lives, not the other way around,” said Dr Rod Brazier, Managing Director of IHCL.

Making Inclusion Part of the Learning Experience

At IHCL, we believe that inclusion should be built into the learning experience from the very beginning, rather than treated as an additional measure available only when a student asks for support.

Our approach focuses on understanding that every learner has different circumstances, responsibilities, strengths and ways of learning. By creating flexible learning pathways and prioritising student wellbeing, we aim to help learners pursue their ambitions while balancing education with work, family and other commitments.

Through our Adaptive Chunked Experiential Learning (ACEL) approach, we continue to explore how education can better reflect the realities of modern students. By connecting learning with practical experience and breaking the educational journey into manageable, meaningful stages, ACEL supports a more adaptable and engaging learning experience.

We also recognise that inclusion extends beyond the structure of a course. It means creating an environment where students feel respected, supported and able to participate fully in their education, without unnecessary barriers or assumptions about what they can achieve.

Recognition of Our Commitment

The Lead5050 Awards celebrate individuals and organisations working to advance equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Being shortlisted for the Contribution to Inclusion Award is an important milestone for IHCL and an opportunity to contribute to a wider conversation about how institutions can create more inclusive experiences for the people they serve.

As we continue to develop our approach to education, this recognition reinforces the importance of listening to learners, understanding their individual needs and challenging traditional approaches that may not work for everyone.

We are proud to be part of a community working towards a future in which opportunity is not limited by a person's circumstances and where different learning needs are recognised as a natural part of the educational experience.
